Air Fryer Italian Sliders
I started making these Air Fryer Italian Sliders for a last minute get-together and they’ve been a family favorite ever since. Packed with pepperoni, salami, and melted provolone in soft Hawaiian rolls, brushed with herby Italian butter and air fried until golden and perfectly melty. Pull one apart and you’ll be reaching for another.

Whether it’s game day, a potluck, or a family dinner, these are my go-to because they come together fast in the air fryer and everyone loves them. They pack and travel well so they’re great for bringing along. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheat in the air fryer until warm and melty again.

These come together with just a few simple layers and a quick butter glaze, and the air fryer does all the heavy lifting.
Slice and Layer the Buns
Slice the buns and place the bottom halves in a baking dish. I like using this ceramic baking dish that fits my air fryer basket, which is key here.
Layer on the ham, salami, pepperoni, and provolone cheese. Sprinkle the roasted red peppers and banana peppers over the top.

Mix and Brush the Butter Glaze
In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter and Italian seasoning. Place the top halves of the slider buns over the layered ingredients and brush the tops generously with the butter mixture. A pastry brush makes it easy to get even coverage across all the rolls without tearing them.

Air Fry the Sliders
Cover the dish with foil and bake in the air fryer at 320°F (160°C) for 15 minutes. For this recipe, my basket-style air fryer works perfectly, as it provides the space and airflow needed to cook the sliders evenly in the baking dish.
Remove from the air fryer and, if desired, brush with additional butter before serving.

Serve and Enjoy
Serve the sliders warm with marinara sauce on the side for dipping. Enjoy!

If you’re bringing these to a party or potluck, keep them tightly covered with foil in the baking dish and transport them in an insulated casserole carrier to keep the heat in. They stay warm and fresh for at least an hour, and you can always pop them back in the air fryer for a few minutes to crisp back up if needed.

Notes
- Use a baking dish that fits your air fryer: Make sure your dish sits flat in the basket with enough room for air to circulate around the sides for even cooking.
- Layer in the right order: Place the ham first, then salami, pepperoni, and provolone on top so the cheese melts directly onto the meat layers and holds everything together.
- Don’t skip the foil: Covering the dish with foil for the full 15 minutes traps steam and keeps the buns soft, not dry or tough.
- Brush generously with butter: Get the butter mixture into the edges and corners of the buns, not just the tops, for maximum flavor in every bite.
- Add extra butter before serving: If desired, brush on a little more of the melted butter mixture right after pulling the sliders from the air fryer for an extra glossy, flavorful finish.
- Freeze before slicing: If you’re making a batch ahead of time, freeze the sliders whole in the baking dish, then wrap individually once solid so they hold their shape and don’t stick together.

How to Store Leftovers
Let the sliders cool completely before storing. Wrap them tightly in foil or transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3 days. To reheat, pop them back in the air fryer at 320°F for a few minutes until warmed through and the buns crisp up slightly.
For longer storage, wrap individual sliders in plastic wrap and place them in a freezer-safe container for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the fridge and reheat in the air fryer until warm and melty again.
What to Serve With Air Fryer Italian Sliders
These sliders are hearty enough to stand on their own, but a simple side makes the whole spread feel complete. A crisp Caesar salad, a bowl of tomato soup, or a plate of roasted vegetables pairs really well with the bold Italian flavors. If you’re setting up a party spread, a simple green salad or antipasto platter keeps the Italian theme going without overwhelming the table.
For dipping beyond marinara, a side of garlic aioli works beautifully and adds a rich creamy contrast to the bold savory sliders.
