Ingredients

Instructions

  • Cream the butter with the brown and white sugars in a large bowl until the mixture is soft and creamy. This should take about 5 minutes.
1 cup butter, 1 cup light brown sugar, ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • Add the eggs, vanilla, and blue food coloring, mixing until everything is fully combined and the color is evenly distributed.
2 eggs, 2 teaspoons vanilla, 2 teaspoons blue food coloring
  • Add the flour, salt, and baking powder, stirring gently with a wooden spoon. Mix only until the dough starts to come together—don’t overmix.
3 cups flour, 1 teaspoon salt, 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • Fold in the chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, chopped Oreos, chopped chocolate chip cookies, and chocolate chunks, saving a bit of each for topping the cookies. Place the dough in the refrigerator to chill for 30 minutes.
1 cup chocolate chips, 1 cup white chocolate chips, 1 cup Oreos, 1 cup chocolate chunks, 1 cup chocolate chip cookies
  • Preheat your oven to 180ºC (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Scoop around 2 tablespoons of dough, flatten it slightly, and place a chocolate cookie disc on top. Cover with 2 more tablespoons of dough, pressing to seal the edges and form a round shape. Sprinkle some of the reserved toppings on top.

  • Bake the cookies in the preheated oven until the edges are just golden, around 12-15 minutes. Let them cool on the baking sheet before serving.

Notes

  • Room Temperature Butter: Let your butter sit out until it’s soft. This makes it easy to cream with the sugars, creating a light and fluffy base for the dough that’s essential for a soft cookie.
  • Adjust Food Coloring: Start with a small amount of blue food coloring and add more as you go until you reach that perfect shade. Going overboard can lead to a very intense color, so add it gradually and stop when it feels just right.
  • Mix Carefully: Once you add the flour, salt, and baking powder, mix gently and avoid overmixing. Overworking the dough can make the cookies denser and tougher, so stop as soon as you see everything is combined.
  • Reserve Toppings for Decoration: Set aside a handful of chocolate chips, Oreos, and chocolate chunks to sprinkle on top of the cookies before baking. This gives the cookies a bakery-style look and makes them extra eye-catching.
  • Chill the Dough: Don’t skip this step! Chilling the dough for at least 30 minutes helps it firm up, making it easier to shape and preventing excessive spreading in the oven. Plus, it enhances the flavor as the ingredients meld together.
  • Tuck in the Cookie Disc Center: Placing a chocolate cookie disc in the middle adds a delicious surprise in every bite. It’s like a hidden pocket of chocolate goodness that takes these cookies to the next level.
  • Shape Tall for Thick Cookies: If you prefer your cookies thicker and chewier, shape each dough ball taller rather than wider before baking. This encourages the cookies to stay chunky instead of spreading too flat.
