Ingredients

Chocolate fudge frosting:

Instructions

  • Line your air fryer basket with parchment paper. In a mixing bowl, combine softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Using an electric mixer, beat this mixture until creamy and fluffy, about 5 minutes. Add the eggs, one at a time, along with the vanilla extract, mixing well to ensure all ingredients are fully combined.
¾ cups brown sugar, ¼ cup granulated sugar, ¾ cups unsalted butter, 1 tablespoon vanilla extract, 2 eggs
  • In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, cornstarch, baking soda, salt, and espresso powder. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, stirring until everything is just combined.
2 cups all-purpose flour, ½ cup cocoa powder, 1 tablespoon cornstarch, 1 teaspoon baking soda, ½ teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon espresso powder
  • Scoop the dough into 2-tablespoon balls and place them on the parchment-lined air fryer basket, leaving space between each one. Gently press chocolate chips on top of each cookie.
½ cup semi sweet chocolate chips
  • Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (180°C). Place the cookies in the basket and bake for 6 minutes. After baking, let them cool briefly before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • In a separate bowl, beat together the softened butter, cream cheese, cocoa powder, powdered sugar, and salt until smooth and creamy to make the frosting. Transfer the frosting to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Once the cookies have cooled, pipe the frosting in a flower shape on each cookie.
½ cup unsalted butter, ¼ cup cream cheese, ½ cup cocoa powder, 2 cups powdered sugar, ¼ teaspoon salt
  • Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • Room Temperature Ingredients: Let your butter and eggs reach room temperature before mixing. This helps everything blend smoothly.
  • Perfect Creaminess: Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy to create a better texture in the cookies.
  • Chocolate Chip Placement: Press chocolate chips lightly on top to keep them visible after baking.
  • Don’t Overcrowd: Leave space between cookie balls in the air fryer to ensure they bake evenly.
  • Avoid Over-Baking: Air fry for just 6 minutes to keep these cookies soft and fudgy.
  • Pipe with Care: Use a gentle hand when frosting to achieve a clean, flower-like shape on each cookie.
