Air Fryer Chicken Alfredo Lasagna

Every time I make this Air Fryer Chicken Alfredo Lasagna, it’s gone before I can grab seconds. Tender lasagna sheets, rich spinach Alfredo sauce, and seasoned shredded chicken layered together and finished with a bubbly, golden Parmesan crust that people genuinely cannot believe came out of an air fryer.

Let me walk you through each step so your lasagna comes out creamy, golden, and perfectly layered every time.

Prep the Lasagna Sheets

Boil the lasagna sheets in water for a couple of minutes, just until they start to become pliable. Check the package instructions first since some varieties don’t require pre-boiling at all.

Once done, spread them out on a large tray so they don’t stick together while you prep everything else.

Grease the Baking Pan

Grease a 9″ x 13″ baking dish and set it aside while you finish making the sauce and prepping the chicken. I love using this ceramic baking dish for this because it holds heat evenly and goes straight from the air fryer to the table.

Season the Chicken

In a bowl, combine the cooked, shredded chicken with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Toss everything together until the chicken is evenly coated.

Make the Spinach Alfredo Sauce

In a large skillet or saucepan, melt the butter with the flour over medium heat, stirring until a thick paste forms. I always reach for my nonstick skillet for sauce like this because it heats evenly and nothing sticks.

Melt butter with flour over medium heat, stirring until a thick paste forms.

Add the minced garlic and milk, then cook for a couple of minutes, stirring frequently, until the mixture starts to thicken. Throw in the mozzarella cheese, spinach, heavy cream, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper, then stir everything together until combined.

Turn off the heat and keep stirring until you have a smooth, saucy mixture. If it looks too thick, add a splash more milk to loosen it up.

Layer the Lasagna

Start layering with ricotta cheese, then the seasoned chicken, then the creamy Alfredo sauce with spinach, and then a layer of lasagna sheets. Repeat until you’ve used everything up, finishing with a layer of spinach Alfredo sauce on top.

Finish with a generous layer of grated Parmesan cheese over the top.

Bake in the Air Fryer

Bake in the air fryer at 160ºC (320°F) for 20 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the sauce is bubbly around the edges. A basket-style air fryer is key to getting that perfectly golden top without drying out the filling.

Air-fry at 160°C (320°F) for 20 minutes, until the top is golden and the sauce is bubbly.

If you want a slightly crispier Parmesan crust, give it an extra 2 to 3 minutes and keep an eye on it.

Serve Warm and Enjoy

Let the lasagna sit for a few minutes before slicing so the layers hold together when you cut. Enjoy!

If you’re bringing this to a potluck or family gathering, let it cool slightly, then cover the baking dish tightly with foil and transport it in an insulated casserole carrier to keep it warm on the way there.

Air Fryer Chicken Alfredo Lasagna

Air Fryer Chicken Alfredo Lasagna is honestly one of my favorite things to pull out of the air fryer. It's rich, creamy, and layered with seasoned shredded chicken, spinach Alfredo sauce, ricotta, and Parmesan between tender lasagna sheets. The Alfredo sauce is made from scratch with butter, garlic, mozzarella, and heavy cream, so every bite is deeply creamy and satisfying. I love that the air fryer gets the top perfectly golden without heating up the whole kitchen. A comforting, impressive dinner that comes together with simple ingredients and never fails to wow the table.

Notes

Here are a few tips I’ve picked up from making this recipe that’ll help you get the best results every time.
  • Don’t skip pre-boiling the sheets: If your lasagna sheets require pre-cooking, give them just enough time to become pliable. Over-boiling makes them too soft, and they’ll fall apart during layering.
  • Spread the noodles out right away: Lay the boiled lasagna sheets on a large tray as soon as they come out of the water so they don’t clump or stick together before you’re ready to layer.
  • Season the chicken well: The garlic powder and paprika add a lot of flavor, so don’t be shy with the salt and pepper. A well-seasoned filling makes every layer taste better.
  • Control the sauce consistency: If the spinach Alfredo sauce thickens too much after you turn off the heat, stir in a small splash of milk to loosen it up before layering. The sauce should be pourable but not watery.
  • Finish with a generous Parmesan layer: A thick, even layer of Parmesan on top gives you that golden, slightly crisp crust after baking. Don’t skimp on it.
  • Freeze in portions: Cut the lasagna into individual portions before freezing so you can thaw only what you need. Wrap each piece tightly in plastic wrap before placing in a freezer-safe container to prevent freezer burn.

How to Store Leftovers

Let the lasagna cool completely before storing. Transfer leftovers into an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3 days.

I recommend using a glass airtight container for this. It keeps the layers intact and makes reheating easy in the microwave or back in the air fryer at 160ºC (320°F) for a few minutes to crisp the top again.

For longer storage, freeze portions in a freezer-safe container for up to 2 months. Thaw overnight in the fridge before reheating, and add a small splash of milk as you warm it to restore the sauce’s creamy consistency.

What to Serve With Air Fryer Chicken Alfredo Lasagna

A crisp green salad is one of my favorite things alongside a rich, creamy lasagna like this one. A simple Caesar salad or an arugula salad with lemon dressing cuts right through the richness and keeps the meal feeling balanced. Garlic bread is another classic pairing that’s hard to say no to, especially for scooping up any extra sauce left on the plate.

If you want something heartier on the side, roasted vegetables like broccoli, zucchini, or cherry tomatoes round the meal out beautifully. A glass of sparkling water with lemon or iced tea also pairs wonderfully with the creamy Alfredo flavors.
