• Box Grater — If you only grab one grater, this is the one that earns its drawer space. The different sides handle everything from a fine dusting of Parmesan to shredded cheese for a bake.
• Garlic Press — I press whole cloves straight in, skin and all, and skip the sticky fingers and cutting board entirely. It's out on my counter more than any other gadget.
• Mandoline Slicer — I used to dread slicing potatoes evenly for a gratin. Now I run them over this and everything cooks at the same rate — it completely changed how my sheet-pan bakes turn out.
