Gather Your Ingredients
You’ll need pie crust dough, Granny Smith apples, lemon juice, flour, sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, unsalted butter, egg, turbinado sugar, and cinnamon.
Roll half of the pie crust dough into a ⅛ inch thick circle and transfer it to a 9-inch pie plate. Chill the plate in the fridge while you prepare the filling.
In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. In another bowl, toss sliced apples with lemon juice, then add the flour mixture and coat evenly.
Roll out the remaining dough into a ⅛ inch thick circle and place it over the filling. Trim excess dough, seal, and flute the edges. Cut four slits on top for steam to vent.
